The below article from our friends in Indiana made me wonder: Is this part of a right wing conspiracy to take our Holy Bibles from, so that we can no longer read such sleazy trash as:

Ezekial 23: 19-20: She increased her, prostitution, remembering the days of her youth when she engaged in, in, prostitution in the land of Egypt. She lusted after their Genitals, Genitals as large as those of donkeys, and their seminal emissions, was as plentiful as that of stallions.”

Then there are verses explaining how to sell one’s daughter into slavery; verses denying a man whose testicles had been crushed or “whose male organ is cut off,” entry into the congregation. Verses from the new and old testaments urging rejection of family. Verses urging the stoning to death of a sexually indiscrete woman or a gay person. Self-mutilation! Infanticide! Massacres of the most brutal kind of hundreds of thousands of men, women, and children.

There’s the story in Judges of Lot, God’s “virtuous man," sending his virgin daughter out knowing she was to be gang-raped.

Out of context! Says the believer.

What is the context for sending one’s daughter out to be gang-raped or bashing babies’ brains out on rocks? Ed.

ABFFE Joining With Media Coalition in fight Over Indiana Law

After ABFFE (AMERICAN BOOKSELLERS FOUNDATION FOR FREE EXPRESSION) announced last month its intent to fight a new Indian Law calling for booksellers to register "sexually explicit" materials with the state, the organization has teamed with Media Coalition in preparing to file a court challenge to the law. Although Media Coalition has not filed the challenge yet, ABFFE president Chris Finan said that something will likely happen in May (as the law goes into effect in July).

Joining the plaintiffs, along with ABFFE, are the ACLU of Indiana and Indiana booksellers. Speaking to the
Indiana law, Finan said: "In America we don't let government license bookstores." Media Coalition is a trade group that defends the First Amendment rights of publishers, retailers and libraries.

Earlier in the week, ABFFE helped defeat another bill, this one in Arizona, which would have made businesses financially responsible for ensuing civil suits borne out of any content they sold--books, music, video games, etc.--that contained imagery then mimicked in a crime. ABFFE also helped bring down a bill brought before the
Colorado legislature that banned the sale of any materials deemed "harmful," by the state, to minors.
