From the XXX: 30 Porn Star Portraits by Timothy Greefield-Sanders, the essay by New York Post Editor Richard Johnson:

Jimmy Many Horses in Native American Writer Sherman Alexie’s The Lone Ranger and Tonto Fistfight in Heaven.

Jimmy Many Horses, who is dying, asks;

“Where the hell is my wife?”

“Right here, asshole,” (his) wife answered quickly and succinctly. Then she paused a second before she added, “And quite calling me your wife. It makes me sound like I’m a fucking bowling ball or something…”

From Hispanic Sandra Cisnero’s Novel Caramelo:

Cisneros injects her work with levity, sometimes somber, as when the protagonist Alta’s Uncle Fat Face comments “It is no disgrace to be poor…but it’s very inconvenient.”

Some of Cisnero’s humor is quite earthy, the following being a LOL example:

Youthful Caramelo’s father says, "So, I said to the boss, I quit. This job is like el calzón de una puta. A prostitute’s underwear. ..All day long it’s nothing but up and down, up and down…”
