Abe and Sol were baseball players, obsessed with the sport, having played during high school college and on community teams thereafter.

Their obsession with the sport was such that they pledged to each other, should one of them die, the other would make contact from the afterlife to tell the other whether o not there was baseball in heaven.

Abe died first, the victim at age 49 of a massive coronary. Six months later, he appeared to Sol. And spoke. “Sol?”

“Yes, Abe, is that really you?”

“It really is.”

“Well, tell me, is there baseball in heaven?”

“Well, Sol, I have good news and bad news about that. The good news: yes there is baseball in heaven every day, in a stadium more glorious and grand than I can describe.”

“Wonderful. And the bad news?”

“You’re pitching next Friday.”
